How Can PIAC Help?

PIAC and its members can provide your School Council with information about the TDSB, Ministry of Education guidelines, and School Council procedures or connect you with resources:
  • Contact PIAC by email: info@torontopiac.com
  • Contact your PIAC Ward Representatives
    • Each Ward has two elected PIAC Members. View the current PIAC Membership List (PDF, 152 KB).
    • PIAC members can provide resources and advice for school councils, connect parents with education resources, provide information on TDSB policies and procedures, and advocate for student and family needs.
    • Your Ward Representative or another PIAC member can speak at your School Council meeting. Request a meeting by contacting info@torontopiac.com.
  • Contact the Parent and Community Engagement Office (PCEO)
    • Michelle Munroe, Central Coordinator, Parent and Community Engagement Office at 416 397-3528 or michelle.munroe@tdsb.on.ca. The PCEO can assist with information regarding TDSB school councils, finding documents and templates, and navigating council goals and responsibilities.
    • The PCEO has developed a reference presentation for school councils called School Councils 101.
  • Sign up for PIAC Newsletters for ongoing updates using the subscribe button at the bottom of the page.
  • Contact your Trustee
    • View the list of current TDSB Trustees. Trustees are elected to represent the constituents (voters, parents, and students) in their Ward. You can contact your Trustee by phone or email, or attend your local Ward Council meeting. Ward Council meetings provide an opportunity for parent representatives from schools in the ward to meet with their local school trustee to discuss issues of common concern. Ward council meetings are also an opportunity for the school trustee to inform parents about matters under consideration by the Board and gather parent feedback.
